Nominations Open for 2022 Pay It Forward Awards and Two New Awards Honoring Judge Hugh B. Scott

Buffalo, N.Y. – The Communities of Giving Legacy Initiative (CGLI) is pleased to announce that the nomination process for its Pay It Forward Awards is now open. These annual awards were created to recognize outstanding individuals or organizations that embody the CGLI’s mission of cultivating positive change in the lives of trailblazing youth of color living within Western New York.

The 2021 honorees were: Terence Jenkins, Waterfront Elementary School; Stan Martin, HOPE Buffalo; Dinorah Santos, Father Belle Center; and the Hispanic Women’s League. You can see a full list of past honorees here.

Additionally, the CGLI has established two new community service awards in 2022 to honor the legacy of Judge Hugh B. Scott:

The Judge Hugh B. Scott – Community Service Award recognizes a person age 21 – 40 from a Western New York community of color who exemplifies a commitment to creating positive change in the lives of youth of color through community service, civic engagement or volunteerism.

The Inspiring Youth – Community Service Award recognizes a trailblazing youth age 13 – 20 from a Western New York community of color who exemplifies a commitment to creating positive change through community service, civic engagement or volunteerism, above and beyond activities required or sponsored by school or youth programs.

Nominations for all the awards need to be submitted online and are due September 14, 2022. Links to the nomination forms for both sets of awards can be found at www.theCGLI.org.

All of the award winners will be honored at the annual Pay It Forward Awards on Thursday, November 3, 2022.
