Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo Announces Hire of Director, Community Impact
The Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo, a 501(c)(3) public charity, announces a new hire to further the organization’s mission of connecting people, ideas and resources to improve lives in Western New York. In addition to advancing this mission, the Director, Community Impact will support the organization’s efforts to drive positive, lasting change in our community on behalf of clients who ask the Foundation to do so in their name. The Community Foundation’s leadership work focuses on four community goals:
- Improve educational achievement for students in low-income households
- Increase racial/ethnic diversity
- Enhance and leverage significant natural resources
- Strengthen the region as a center for architecture, arts & culture
As Director, Community Impact, Katie will advance the Foundation’s mission and leadership work by convening partners, identifying new opportunities for collaboration and supporting efforts to maximize resources. Katie comes to the Community Foundation from the Cook County Sheriff’s Office where she served as Director of Social Services for the past eight years. She also brings experience in program development and management, community engagement, and government/nonprofit partnerships. Katie received a B.S. in Marketing from St. Joseph’s University in 2000 and a M.S. in Counseling from Canisius in 2006. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Children’s Growth Foundation.
