Niagara Area Foundation Announces New Board Members and 2017 Officers

Lockport, NY – The \"Niagara Area Foundation\": announced its new council members and the officers elected for the 2017 term.

“The Niagara Area Foundation Council is comprised of a group of dedicated volunteer leaders who are committed to improving the lives of the residents of Niagara County,” said Bruce Elliott, Niagara Area Foundation Chair. “Together with our partners, we are working to identify and address the critical needs in our community.”

New 2017 Niagara Area Foundation Council members include:

*Daniel Aikin *– Daniel is the Director of Communications & Special Events for New York State Senator Michael H. Ranzenhofer. He has worked with Senator Ranzenhofer for nearly a decade. Daniel is a graduate of Canisius College.

Molly Anderson – Molly is the Executive Director of the Center for Leadership & Organizational Effectiveness (CLOE) at University at Buffalo. She was previously the President & CEO of Leadership Niagara.

Betsy Diachun is rejoining the Board after serving from 2008-2014.

Officers of the Board of Directors for 2017 are: Bruce Elliott, Chair; Patricia George, Esq., Vice Chair and Treasurer; Mary Ann Oliver, Secretary.

In 2016, the Niagara Area Foundation awarded more than $58,000 in grants to nine Niagara County nonprofit organizations that support youth development. To date, more than $1 million has been awarded through the Niagara Area Foundation to nonprofits that support a mission to connect people, ideas and resources to improve lives in Niagara County. The Niagara Area Foundation is a geographic division of the Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo.
