Herman and Suzanne Fisher Family Fund PDF Print E-mail

Fisher family

The Fisher Family Fund, started in the name of John Fisher’s parents, Herman and Suzanne, is a great example of how philanthropy can become a family tradition.

“We were looking for stability and long-term assurance,” Mr. Fisher said.  “I have confidence in the Foundation’s professional management of the portfolio.”

Mr. Fisher has served on grant review panels for the Foundation, and understands its depth of knowledge about the region.

“I especially appreciate the resources of the Foundation in preparing our children, Suzanne and Will, for their future roles as the fund’s advisors.”

One of the issues faced by Evans National Bank – how to maintain a strong tradition of community charitable commitment in a cost-efficient manner – is common in the corporate world.

“We found a great fit with the Community Foundation,” said James Tilley, President/CEO.  Instead of creating a private foundation, the bank started the Evans National Bank Foundation Fund at the Community Foundation.

“Our corporate giving fund at the Foundation means a better bottom line for us.  It’s been a real win-win for the bank and for the region.”

The Drews

Throughout their lifetimes, Henry and Constance Drew focused their charitable efforts on helping disadvantaged children.  After their deaths, their own children, brothers Richard, William and Henry Drew; and their sister, Mary McKeone; set up this fund in their memory.

“My brothers and sister and I used money mom and dad left us to create this fund at the Foundation,” Richard Drew said.  “The money is still doing what our parents did – helping kids.”
