Established in 2013, the Gordon R. Gross Award recognizes a professional advisor who embodies the Foundation’s mission to drive positive change in our community, like its namesake, Gordon R. Gross. Gordon, founder of the Gross Shuman P.C. law firm, was admired for his many philanthropic endeavors in Western New York and served the Community Foundation in many ways, including as Board Chair from 1997-1998.

“We are honored to carry on Gordon’s name and his legacy through the Gordon R. Gross Award, which recognizes a professional advisor who has introduced the Community Foundation’s services to their clients, and who embodies Gordy’s dedication to our community and to philanthropic efforts throughout the region,” said Betsy Constantine, President and CEO of the Community Foundation. “This year’s recipient – David Luzon – is a shining example of those qualities and represents the Community Foundation’s efforts to drive positive change in our community.”

For more than 100 years, the Community Foundation has worked alongside attorneys, accountants and financial professionals to create customized solutions that best achieve their clients’ charitable goals. The Professional Advisor Honor Roll Luncheon is just one way that the Community Foundation recognizes and acknowledges its professional advisor partners for their role in helping achieve its mission of connecting people, ideas and resources to improve lives in Western New York.
