A Message from the President- July 2020

While we are still grappling with the uncertainty of these challenging times, there is hope in the coordinated work underway in our community to create solutions to difficult challenges that have been exacerbated in 2020. The Community Foundation remains steadfast in its commitment to work toward recovery and building forward together, while keeping you informed on those efforts.

On June 16, we hosted a call to update our clients on the collaborative effort leading the WNY COVID-19 Community Response Fund and its recovery initiative. You can read more about the Fund to date, and next steps, in this newsletter. We also shared an update on our leadership work with the Greater Buffalo Racial Equity Roundtable, a group of nearly 40 community leaders working with an additional 250 partners committed to advancing racial equity by changing the systems that create barriers to fair and equitable opportunities for people of color. Each year, we look forward to showing our clients the important work in our community that we are supporting thanks to your generosity. We have called these our Community Impact Tours in the past. While this year’s “tour” may look a bit different, we are planning planning five informational Community Impact Zoom Sessions on different topics that will take place on the dates to the right, and will address our community goals and how the work has adapted due to the pandemic. Please mark your calendars and stay tuned for more information.

Thank you for your ongoing efforts to support our community. More than ever, we are incredibly grateful for your partnership as we remain committed to connecting people, ideas and resources to improve lives in Western New York.
